F22 Lightning 3

Solo Elite was formed in 1998 by its founder Disciple primarily as an F-22 Lightning 3 Squadron. The goal was to recruit top pilots and make them even better! The initial team was assembled and the legend of the greatest squadron in F22 Lightning 3 continues. During Solo Elites time in F22 Lightning 3, we dominated the skies of Novaworld, seven years later our legacy continues. Over the years we have won wars and tournaments with untouchable statistics and have a war record that is currently unmatched by any other squadron to date. As time went by we grew in numbers and recruited some excellent pilots each with their own individual and valuable input to the team. Seven years later, F22 Lightning 3 still has a very strong online community. Unfortunately, this classic gaming title can longer compete with modern day Combat Flight Simulators. Solo Elite needed to move onto something greater.

Lock On: Modern Air Combat

Along came a brand new Flight Simulator Called Lock On: Modern Air Combat. Lock on was set to be Solo Elites highly awaited next generation flight simulator. Initially the game itself was a hit amongst most members with in depth game play and graphics which still competes with todays more modern game releases. Even today, we still support LOMAC, although along came another game that proved much more popular with the members!

Battlefield 2

The eagerly awaited sequel to Battlefield 1942 and Battlefield Vietnam was finally released. Battlefield 2! Battlefield 2 got instant interest from majority of Solo Elite members, and that was despite it being a First Person Shooter! The Council agreed to Venture into BF2 and make it a game we would support and recruit for.

There was already interest in FPS by many members in Solo Elite even when F22 Lightning 3 was our most played game. Delta Force Land Warrior, Joint Operations, Battlefield 1942 and Desert Combat were played by a handful of members before Battlefield 2 sparked huge interest, so we did have members with FPS experience! We also got very stable in Call of Duty and Call of Duty United Offensive but at the time Battlefield 2 was far more superior!

Battlefield 2 still remains one of our most played games. However, during Solo Elites transition from Flight Sims to First Person Shooters we learnt the hard way what it took to start up in a new game in a different game genre which had a much bigger, vaster community. That said, the experience we all learnt in Battlefield 2 certainly helped us finding yet another game which members took a liking to: Call of Duty: MW and other FPS!

Call of Duty 4

The creation of Call of Duty 4 was in a way a saviour to Solo Elite, in the same way Battlefield 2 was a saviour when F22 Lightning 3 ran its course. The difference is, Battlefield 2 is was still a main game for Solo Elite so I guess you could say the urgency for another game maybe wasn’t as demanding. However, the Call of Duty 4 wing evolved way beyond anyone’s expectations!

Call of Duty 4 saw a new breed of gamers in Solo Elite. I guess the best way to describe it is the “new generation” of Solo Elite gaming. Call of Duty 4, for Solo Elite, grew to be as big, if not bigger, then Battlefield 2. Solo Elite had a War Record which spoke for itself. Call of Duty 4 is was seen as being essential for the continuing evolution of gaming and key part of Solo Elites current and continuing development.

Call of Duty: World at War

Call of Duty World at War was seen as a natural step from Call of Duty 4. There were some gamers that stopped playing COD4 to be a part of World at War and there are those who still play both. The Call of Duty World at War runs in parallel with Call of Duty 4 housing some of the best gamers we have ever seen. We were active in Wars and had a well established team. We were (and still are) feared by our competitors when it comes to any Call of Duty series, Call of Duty World at War was no exception.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Black Ops

Rough times were brought by these 2 games. As we expanded there were more members that wanted to become an active and leading part in Solo-Elite. This went well for a number of months but after MW2 made room for Black Ops the leading part sought difference and independence which led to chaotic and unsure moments.
After a great part of the Black Ops wing followed out of Solo-Elite a new team was added to the remnants of the bleeding team. This was one of the best things that could happen to this wing. Almost in no time the team recovered and started playing matches again and fought with renewed fire and purpose.
After a few months the team claimed the first place trophy for the TRL league AND ladder!

Battlefield 3 and Call of Duty : Modern Warfare 3

These are the current wings of Solo-Elite. Both teams participate in matches, ladders and leagues. With 2 experienced groups of members and strong leadership they both hold great value in the history of S*E and are on their way to set another great example of how great this clan is.

Evolution

You can see by reading the History how Solo Elite has evolved from one game to the next, and for the first time in the History of Solo Elite, how the team went about creating a multi gaming community.

Solo Elite is always moving forward. We will endeavour to cater for all the best new games that hit our shelves, and provide the best gamers in the world. But most of all... it is family and friendship that is what makes us strong.
